Dollar falls

Published March 15, 2007

LONDON, March 14: The dollar wilted against the euro on Wednesday on deepening worries about the health of the US mortgage market while the yen fell back against the pound and the euro on profit-taking. The single European currency in late-day deals was at $1.3234 after 1.3193 on Tuesday. The dollar was trading at 116.25 yen against 116.31 on Tuesday. The fourth quarter performance eclipsed market expectations of a deficit. —AFP
