BAHAWALPUR, March 13: Samia Bibi, an alleged victim of a kidney sale scam involving her husband and father-in-law has challenged the formation of a medical board constituted to examine her in Bahawalpur bench of the Lahore High Court.
The board was formed to ascertain the medical facts of the case.
Samia’s counsel Muhammed Qasim stated in the writ petition that his client took a strong exception to the inclusion of two doctors — Khalid Majid and Salman Waris-in the Bahawal Victoria Hospital’s medical board.
The counsel said that according to Samia, the doctors had declared that one of her kidneys was missing since her birth even without conducting her medical examination.
The petitioner prayed to the LHC to declare the board unlawful and direct the DPO to get constituted a new body, either at Lahore or any other place.
Her writ petition is expected to come up for hearing on Wednesday (today).
