Bid to influence judiciary: PPP

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, March 11: Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto has said that the suspension of the chief justice at a time when crucial constitutional issues are to come up for decision appears to be an attempt to influence the judiciary.

In a statement, the former prime minister said the move had alarmed bar associations and political parties.

Ms Bhutto expressed concern over the violation of the seniority principle in nominating the acting chief justice.
