Cancellation of Naeem’s SC licence sought

By Bakhtawar Mian

ISLAMABAD, March 11: The Punjab Bar Council has sought cancellation of Advocate Naeem Bukhari’s licence for the Supreme Court.

The PBC, after cancelling the licence of Mr Bukhari, had decided to send his case to the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), lawyers said. They accused him of having become a tool of the establishment and disgracing the profession. They hoped that the PBC would cancel his licence.

Mr Bukhari who, according to the lawyers, was serving the government purpose by holding two licences, one each from the Punjab Bar Council and the Pakistan Bar Council, for practicing law at lower, superior and apex courts. “He is a legal advisor to dozens of government bodies and organisations. This shows his close links with the establishment,” they alleged.
