ISLAMABAD, March 11: The Afghan Jirga Commission headed by Chairman Pir Syed Ahmed Gillani arrived here on Saturday on a three-day official visit.

Members of the Afghan Jirga were warmly received by Interior Minister and Pakistan Jirga Commission Chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao.

After holding a brief discussion with the jirga, the minister said that Pakistan wanted a durable peace in Afghanistan.

“Stability in Afghanistan is linked with the regional progress and prosperity,” the minister was quoted as saying in a press release.

He said that formal talks between both jirgas would start on Monday in which different matters would be discussed.—APP
