KARACHI: Light rain expected in province

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 10: Light rains are expected on Sunday almost all over Sindh, including the city. This will bring down the mercury slightly, a met office official said on Saturday.

The official said a weather disturbance had developed over Afghanistan and Iran which was moving east and would enter Sindh from the western side. As a result, the province, including its capital, Karachi, may receive light showers for a day or two.

The weather system, according to the met office is a normal happening at this time of the year. It will later move further east and is expected to enter the western parts of India bordering Pakistan.

The Met office on Thursday (March 8) predicted intermittent widespread moderate to heavy rains and/or thunder showers starting from Friday (March 9) over most parts of the country, especially upper Punjab, upper NWFP, north east Balochistan, Kashmir and Northern Areas with chances of snowfall on the mountains.
