COLOMBO: A roadside bomb killed at least three police commandos and wounded another 12 in eastern Sri Lanka on Friday, the military said. The blast went off near a heavy vehicle of the police Special Task Force at Maha Oya in the district of Ampara while they were on a routine patrol, a local official said. They said the rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam had set off the powerful Claymore mine near the STF vehicle transporting commandos.—AFP
