Awards for talented students, teachers

RAWALPINDI, March 9: A prize distribution ceremony for talented students of federal government educational institutions in cantonments, garrisons and army public school and colleges system (APSCS) was organised by the 10 Corps Headquarters, here on Friday.

As many as 31 students, nine best teachers and four heads of best institutions were awarded merit certificates, medals, trophies and cash prizes for the year 2006 by the chief guest Lt- Gen Tariq Majeed, Commander 10 Corps, at a function held in the auditorium of the FG Sir Syed College.

The first position scholarship in the middle standard was obtained by Sabir Sultan Nawaz of the FG Public Secondary School, Mehfooz Road.

Bushra Kazmi of the FG Girls High School, Tariqabad got the first position in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Arts group.

In the Science group, Usama Bin Nisar of APSC, Westridge-III, won the first position.

At the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) level, Samina Azhar of the FG Degree College for Women, Abid Majeed Road, in Arts group, got the first position.

In the General Science group, Afreen Khalid and in the Science group Arooj Shahid, of APSC Jehlum, got first prizes.

At the graduate level, Sana Zulfiqar stood first in BSc and Rabia Aziz in BA. Both of them are from the FG College for Women Kashmir Road. Noshila Irum and Amina Kauser, of the same college, topped the list at the masters level.

Three colleges — F.G. Boys, Sir Syed College and APSC Jhelum — were declared best colleges whereas the F.G. Public School, Lalazar and APSC, Muzafarabad won the best schools’ trophy.
