KARACHI, March 9: A number of PTCL subscribers have complained that their telephones are dead for the last many months and officials of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited are not rectifying the fault.

A resident of scheme No 33 Abul Hassan Isfhani Road said that his telephone No 4647927 had been out of order for the last one month, but the PTCL officials were not taking any action in this regard despite repeated complaints.

Another complainant from the same locality said his phone No 4643594 was also out of order and lodged many complaints with the PTCL staff, but in vain.

A subscriber from Zeenat Square Liaquatabad said that his phone No 6366164 had been out of order for the last four months and despite frequent visits to the PTCL offices no action had been taken so far. A resident of Liaquatabad FC area said that his phone No 6344634 was not working for the last two months.

Dozens of other subscribers from Liaquatabad complained that their phones were recently restored after 3 to 4 months, which were not fully rectified and they were experiencing cross connection and noise.

An official from the Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) Liaquatabad said that they faced great problems due to faulty phones, saying that the phones were restored but with disruption in lines.

The subscribers said that they were unable to use internet facilities and had to go to public call offices (PCOs) for local calls, which was very difficult for housewives.

Such complaints were also received from Golimar, Bahadurabad, and Nazimabad areas.
