KARACHI, March 9: Shipping activity remained slow at the port where a container ship was allotted berth on QICT to load, unload containers during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.Departures were, however, brisk from the port where container ship, oil tanker, bulk cargo, and raw material carrier sailed to the sea during the report period.

Berth occupancy remained moderate at the port where three ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, furnace oil, and coal, respectively, during the same period.

The port handled 58,898 tons of cargo comprising 52,744 tons of imports and 6,154 tons of exports during the period under review.

Four ships were at the outer anchorage on Friday. They are Maersk Arkansas (container); ACX Margurite (container); Eastern Oasis (chemicals) and Stella (furnace oil).
