ASF official killed, nine injured in accident

ISLAMABAD, March 8: An official of the Airport Security Force (ASF) was killed and nine other persons were injured in a traffic accident on Islamabad Highway on Thursday.

Police said a passenger wagon going to Kalar Syedan from Pirwadhai ran into a group of people at a bus stop near Khanna bridge after the driver lost control over the vehicle.

As a result, 10 persons including the ASF deputy assistant director, Chaudhry Arif sustained critical injuries.

The injured were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors pronounced Mr Arif dead before arrival, while the other injured were said to be in critical condition.

They were identified as Sikandar Hayat, Abdul Aziz, Mushtaq, Aleem Seemab, Aslam, Jehangir, Riffat Naheed, Sabra Begum and Rukhsana.

The driver of the vehicle fled after the accident leaving behind the vehicle.
