KARACHI, March 8: Liquefied Petroleum Gas Distributors Association has urged the government to allow import of duty-free LPG as non-supply of gas from Pak-Arab Refinery may cause a shortage of gas in the country.

The Chairman LPGDA, Mohammad Irfan Kokhar said that due to maintenance work at Pak-Arab Refinery company (PARCO) from March 13 to April 11 the country would face a shortage of 13,500 metric ton gas per month.

He proposed that that prior to start of the gas shut down the government should make alternative arrangements by allowing the LPG marketing companies to import duty-free LPG, adding that if this was done, the prices of LPG gas would come down.
