Waqas hits unbeaten century

KARACHI, March 7: Waqas Haroon hit an unbeaten century to help Deewan Farooq Motors record a massive 158-run victory over the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in the KCCA Inter Departmental tournament here on Tuesday at the KCCA Stadium.

Waqas smashed nine fours and two sixes in his unbeaten 117 as Deewan Farooq Motors scored 297-3 in the allotted 45 overs, while batting first. Besides Waqas Ramiz (84) and Arshad Azam (43) were the other main scorers.

Defending the target, Deewan Farooq bowlers restricted the SBP to 139 all out in 33.5 overs with spinner Yasir Shah snatching a four-wicket haul for 23. Nasir Khan (2-26) and Shakaib Ahmed (2-55) were the other wicket takers.
