Woman among 3 murdered in Pindi

RAWALPINDI, March 7: Three persons including a woman were murdered in separate incidents while a man was killed in road accident here on Wednesday.

According to the police, in the first incident, three unidentified armed men gunned down Mohammad Arif in the Saddar Barooni police area and disappeared. Mr Arif, with a relative Tauqeer Qamar, was going to a hospital when the incident happened. Police said investigation has been started to ascertain the motive behind the murder.

In the second incident, Shahnaz Bibi wife of Rehmat Ali was shot dead at her home while Javaid was seriously injured for having an alleged relationship.

Munawar Masih, a neighbour of the deceased, lodged a complaint with the Banni police saying that three unidentified armed men attacked Shahnaz and Javaid at night, who were sleeping at the house, and escaped from the scene. They were rushed to the Holy Family Hospital where Shahnaz died while Javaid is said to be in critical condition.

Qaiser Mehmood was axed to death by some unidentified persons in Kahuta, in the third incident. Nazir Ahmed, father of the deceased, told the police that his son was employed at a poultry farm and was killed by some unidentified persons at night.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Dildar was killed in road accident. He was run over by a vehicle while crossing the road in Kalar Syedan, police said.
