ATTOCK, March 7: District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Younis has summoned the District Police Officer and Station House Officer (SHO) Attock city police station to explain their position in Dr Inamullah kidnapping case.

The judge directed the DPO and SHO (respondents) to appear in the court on March 8 to explain their position on a complaint filed by the abductee’s father and General Secretary Pakistan Medical Association, Attock.

In the joint complaint, Haji Muhammad Khursheed, the victim’s father, and Dr Muhammad Ali Asghar, General-Sectary PMA, Attock, said that Dr Inamullah along with his nephew, Waqas, visited the DHQ Hospital to inquire after his driver. When he stopped his car (IDG-8517) at the hospital’s main gate, a policeman knocked at the window and asked him to come out.

As Dr Inamullah got out, five persons riding a double-cabin jeep carrying an Islamabad number plate picked him up and sped away. The police official also escaped from the scene.

“Dr Inamullah is a law-abiding citizen and had served the quake-hit people in Attock district. He has no link with any anti-social organization or involved in any criminal activity,” they explained in the petition.

The petitioners informed the court that the matter was immediately reported to the Attock city police but unfortunately neither police nor any government functionary took notice of it.

“As still we are totally unaware as to the whereabouts of the missing doctor, we are left with no option but to move court for justice,” they maintained.
