KARACHI: Nazim orders work on all projects be geared up

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 7: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has directed the administration of North Nazimabad Town to accelerate the pace of all development projects to solve problems of the residents at the earliest.

Chairing a meeting to review the ongoing development projects in North Nazimabad Town on Wednesday, he asked the town administration to take strict action against all contractors who failed to complete projects in time.

MPAs Bilqees Mukhtar and Idrees Siddiqi, Town Nazim Mumtaz Hamid, Naib Nazim Ahsanullah Khan, all UC nazims and naib nazims attended the meeting, which was held in the town office of North Nazimabad.

The nazim asked all UC nazims and naib nazims to visit their areas for close liaison with area people and resolve their issues at their door-steps.

He asked then to get the pace of work accelerated on all ongoing development projects and take action against those contractors who had been awarded more than one contract but the projects were being delayed.

The nazim said such contractors would be blacklisted and would not be given any contract in future.

He directed the town administration to complete all water and sewerage projects this month so that rehabilitation and renovation of roads and streets could be started.

Later, the nazim visited the under-construction road linking Orangi to North Nazimabad and said people of both towns would be benefited after its completion.
