Published March 7, 2007

KARACHI, March 6: Residents of various localities across the city suffered intermittent and prolonged power breakdowns on Tuesday.

A resident from North Nazimabad Block 4 said that power supply to his locality was suspended at 11.30am and restored at 12noon, but it was again suspended at 5pm and restored at 7pm. He said that maintenance of power supply network was just a pretext of the KESC, which was playing with the consumes’ feelings for nothing.

A shopkeeper from Boltan Market said that power supply to the market was suspended at 6am and restored at 7am. He said that due to the load-shedding the shopkeepers were facing great difficulties as the customers were avoiding buying items in the darkness.

Another consumer from Abidabad, Baldia Town, said that power disruption was a routine matter in the area. He said that power supply to the area was suspended at 6am and restored at 10am.—A Reporter
