KARACHI: ‘Shah Latif’s message serves as guiding force’

KARACHI, March 4: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan on Sunday said that the teachings of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai served as a guiding force not only for the people of Sindh but also for the entire world.

In a message on the occasion of 263rd Urs of Shah Latif, he said in the saint’s poetry, we could clearly see message of brotherhood, distance from religious extremism and love for peace, which was reflective of Sindh's inclination towards Sufism.

The status of Sindh with regard to spirituality and religious harmony is significant across the world, the governor said.

Dr Ibad said that Shah Latif prayed to Allah Almighty to shower his blessings on the whole world particularly to transform Sindh into a hallmark of peace, affinity and brotherhood.

Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim in his message said that the poetry of the great Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai would serve as the most useful guide for the people of Sindh for centuries to come.

I am pleased to say that the Sindh government is making all-out efforts to promote the poetry of Shah Latif in every part of the world, he pointed out.—APP
