KARACHI: Two killed, 4 injured in accidents

KARACHI, March 4: At least two people were killed and four others including two policemen were injured in different road accidents in the city on Sunday.

Mohammad Fazal, 18, died and two of his friends Ghulam Rehmani and Abdul Qayyum were injured when a Hub-bound intercity bus (U-0181) ran over a footpath after its tie-rod broke in Sector 11-E of Orangi Town.

The body and the injured were shifted to the hospital. The police impounded the bus and was on lookout for the absconding driver.

Zahid Ali, 22, died when the motorcycle he was riding skidded near Paracha Chowk in SITE area. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.

Two police constables, Wajid Ali and Shaukat Ali, were on their way when a passenger bus hit them near Gulbai roundabout in SITE Town.

The police arrested the driver and shifted the injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where their condition was said to be out of danger.
