KARACHI: APC: parties urged to cooperate

KARACHI, March 4: Sindh Minister for Mines and Minerals Irfanullah Khan Marwat said on Sunday that leaders of some parties had been invited to participate in the All Parties Conference (APC) on provincial autonomy organised by the Sindh government on March 7.

In a statement issued on Sunday, he said those invited included PPP Sindh president Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro, JUI, Shahi Syed, Rasool Bux Palijo and added that more invitations would be sent to Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi and Sindh Minister Syed Saddaruddin Shah soon. The minister said that it was for the first time that the Sindh government had invited political parties without any discrimination in order to remove the reservations of the people of Sindh on the issue of provincial autonomy.

He said that the federal and provincial governments were interested to resolve the problems of people amicably, so the political parties should present their suggestions and proposals about provincial autonomy at the APC.

Mr Marwat asked leaders of all parties to extend cooperation with the government and guide people of Sindh so that their problems could be solved.—PPI
