KARACHI: Holi gives colour to many areas

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 3: Hindus celebrated the annual festival of colours, Holi, on Saturday. The festival is celebrated to mark the victory of good forces over evil ones.

The localities where Hindus live in large numbers presented a festive look with colours flowing in the air, as people throw abeer and gulal in the air expressing joy. Children took special delight in the festival and demanded every colour in loads. The people who participated in the festivals threw colours on each other and also visited their relatives.

Special prayers were offered in all temples, with the main prayer meeting at Swami Narayan Temple near city courts. Religious scholars in their sermons highlighted the importance of Holi and urged people to adopt the path of goodness.

Prayers were also offered for the solidarity of Pakistan and prosperity of all citizens and the community. Bhajans were also sung on the occasion and food distributed freely among the devotees.
