US ambassador stresses enduring ties with Pakistan

KARACHI, March 2: Outgoing US Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker stressed his country’s “strategic and enduring relationship with Pakistan” in meetings he held during is farewell visit to Karachi on Friday.

He led the US Consulate’s memorial ceremony on the first anniversary of last year’s blast at the consulate that had killed two US government employees and a Pakistani staff member.

“In our strategic and long-term relationship with Pakistan, we are all together continuing the fight against terrorism.

“The US and Pakistan are fighting a common enemy and nowhere is this fight more important than here in Karachi,” he said.—APP/PPI
