LAHORE, Mar 2: Fine bowling by pacemen Kamran Hussain and Azharullah helped Multan gain a crucial 31-run lead against Islamabad on the second day of Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League final at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Friday.
Left-armer Kamran captured four for 50 while Azharullah took three for 30 as Islamabad were skittled out for 180 in reply to Multan’s 211.
Multan were 125-4 in second innings to hold an overall lead 156. First Innings top-scorer Saeed Anwar Jr made another important contribution of 60 in the second innings. The left-hander’s 74-ball knock included 13 fours.
Earlier, Multan failed to add to their overnight score of 211-9.
Islamabad then made a shaky start as they the first seven wickets for 69. But Naeem Anjum (67, nine fours, one six, 93 balls) and Rauf Akbar (32, four fours, 54 balls) put on 62 for the eight-wicket to retrieve the position.
