Library in girls school planned

MIRPURKHAS, March 2: District Nazim Dr Sughra Junejo has said that the district government is constructing an air-conditioned library at a cost of Rs1.4 million in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mirpurkhas where girl students could also use computer.

She was speaking during her visit to a number of schools here on Friday during which she witnessed the problems being faced by the schools. DCO Mumtaz Ali Shah and EDO (education) Haji Khan Rahu accompanied her.

The nazim directed the officers to submit a report on construction of bathrooms, boundary walls and other repair and renovation works for the schools.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the construction of bathrooms in the schools on behalf of UNICEF, she directed the officials to ensure quality of work and said that the funds of school management committees should be properly utilized to fulfil minor needs of the schools.

She distributed English dictionary among girl students and gave away best performance awards to the students.

APPEAL: A man whose four family members perished in the Samjhota Express tragedy has appealed to the prime minister to include their names in the official list of those killed in the incident.

Mohammad Shakeel, resident of Makrani Gali, Thomsabad, Mirpurkhas, has sent a written application to the prime minister along with necessary documents. He said that he and his brother were injured while his father Fateh Muhammad alais Peerji, mother Raisa Begum, two sisters Aisha and Sabiha lost their lives in the tragedy. Another relative was admitted in the Burns Ward of Civil Hospital Karachi.

He said the deceased were not included in the list published by the Pakistan government as injured and dead as they were laid to rest in Panipat along with 15 other people.
