Kite flying claims boy’s life

RAWALPINDI, March 2: A 10-year-old boy was killed after being run over by a wagon while he was trying to catch a kite on Murree road on Friday, police said.

The boy, who is yet to be identified was hit by the passenger wagon coming from Islamabad, killing him on the spot. The body of the boy was removed to Rawalpindi General Hospital.

The wagon driver escaped from the scene. The police have impounded the wagon (RPT-3273) and started a hunt for the accused driver.

Robbery: Two robbers looted 4000 British pounds from an expatriate at gunpoint in Saddar on Friday and escaped, police said.

Sajid Razaq, the robbery victim in a complaint to the police said that he was going to Saddar from airport when a car, bearing a government number plate and two persons travelling in it, intercepted his vehicle on The Mall road. The two gunmen got out of their car and snatched the cash from him and sped away in their car.

Meanwhile, The highway patrolling police have arrested two suspected robbers and recovered the looted cash and also a 30- bore pistol from them on Friday.

DSP Khalid Mehmood, revealed that a highway patrolling police party intercepted a gang of robbers who had escaped after looting a shop in Chakwal.

During a chase, the police intercepted the robbers near Jatli and arrested two of them. The arrested accused were identified by the police as Muhammad Aslam and Muhammad Waqas.
