KARACHI: Multan blast condemned

Published March 3, 2007

KARACHI, March 2: Condemning the Multan bomb blast, the Pakistan People’s Party has asked the government to ensure immediate arrest of the culprits involved in this act of terrorism and award them exemplary punishment.

In their statements issued on Friday, Mian Raza Rabbani and Syed Qaim Ali Shah described the blast as “the government’s failure in providing security to citizens.” They asked rulers to step down forthwith as they had miserably failed to maintain peace.

They said that over the past three weeks, the country had witnessed more than a dozen incidents of terrorism which indicated that the writ of the government had ceased to exist.

They also expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of several lives in the Multan incident, and expressed sympathy with the bereaved families.—Staff Reporter
