KARACHI: Journalists’ walk-out from Sindh PA

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 2: The Sindh Assembly Press gallery corps on Friday staged a token walkout to protest against the government action against daily Islam and the improper treatment of the nephew of senior journalist of APP Khushnood Ali Khan at the Aga Khan Hospital where he is under treatment.

The journalists gathered in the press room of the assembly hall where a resolution was adopted condemning the attitude of the management of Aga Khan Hospital with the patient and his family.

The meeting was informed that due to harassment to the workers of the newspaper and its hawkers by police the circulation of the newspaper had been suffering which could result in unemployment to hundreds of workers associated with the paper.

The representative of Daily Islam on this occasion made it clear that there was no link between Al-Rashid Trust and the newspaper but certain government functionaries by showing link of the paper with the Trust were hatching a heinous conspiracy to ban the news paper which was an attack on freedom of the Press

By the resolution the meeting demanded the government to avoid taking any action against the newspaper and take action against those involved in the conspiracy and improper treatment with the patient at the Aga Khan Hospital.
