QUETTA, March 1: The Balochistan chapter of the All Pakistan ZTBL Employees’ Union has called upon the president and the prime minister to direct the management of the Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited to reverse its decision of sacking 1,802 clerical staff.

Speaking at a press conference at the press club here on Thursday, the union’s vice- president Mirajuddin Tareen said the sacked employees included 142 from Balochistan.

He said ZTBL employees had been serving the people in urban and rural areas and the bank was an important institution contributing to progress of the country. But he regretted that the bank management abolished the posts of clerical staff on Feb 25.
