KARACHI, March 1: The residents of various localities in the city complained of frequent power suspensions on Thursday.

A consumer from Muslimabad Landhi said that power supply was suspended at 6.15 pm and was not restored till 9 pm.

A resident of Orangi Town Sector 11-1/2 said that power suspensions were experienced thrice from 6am to noon for 30 minutes each. He said during the last few days, the power was suspended at regular intervals and the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) staff on 118 always called it maintenance and upgradation network of power supply system. “We have been experiencing intermittent power suspensions since early morning “said a caller from Qasba Colony.

Reports of prolonged power suspensions were received from Site area, I.I Chundrigar Road, North Nazimabad, Federal B Area, Malir, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulshan-e-Ghazi.

SHUTDOWN: Meanwhile, the KESC has announced a shut down for Friday stating from 9am to 5pm in Clifton blocks 2, 3,4,5,9. Federal B Area Bock 22, North Nazimabad Blocks D, I, G, Q, R, Maria Homes and Children Hospital. Bahadurabad and Dhoraji in Jamshed Town. Saddar, Jan Press, and I.I Chundrigar Road, North Karachi: Sectors 14A, 14B, 15A-3, 15A-4, 6B, 5E. Manghopir Road Area, Orangi Town Janjal Goth and Site Industrial Area.
