KARACHI: Govt takes notice of drug peddling in Lyari


KARACHI, March 1: The Additional Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Anwar Hyder has directed the Secretary Excise and Taxation and CCPO Karachi to conduct an inquiry into reports of drug peddling in various localities of Lyari including Chakiwarah, Singhu Lane, Rangi Warah and Shah Beg Lane and present a report within three days.

The ACS issued these directives after taking notice of news items appearing in a section of press in this regard.

The acting chief secretary also took notice of two photographs appeared in the section of press showing people taking a bath from a damaged water pipeline in Nazimabad and overflow of sewage water at Sharea Faisal.

The additional chief secretary directed the Managing Director Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) to take steps for the repair of damaged sewerage water pipeline on Shahrah-e-Faisal and water supply line in Nazimabad. He also sought a report in this connection within two days.—PPI
