HYDERABAD, Feb 28: The Site police have arrested one of 10 accused nominated in an FIR lodged by a woman alleging that she was being pressurised by the accused to marry off her 16-year old girl to the son of one of the accused because ‘the girl’s father had lost her in gambling when she was a minor child.

TPO Irfan Bhutto confirmed that Wahid Bux, son of Dili Jan, had been arrested from Sehwan and said that other accused would also be apprehended soon. "Wahid Bux is mainly responsible for extending threats to Nooran and harassing her family", he said.

The Site police lodged the case under sections 147, 148, 149, 540 and 506(2), PPC, on the compliant of Nooran, the mother of Rasheeda.

The accused nominated in FIR include Lal, son of Ali Hyder, Ghani, son of Lal, Shahzad, Zulfikar, Deedar, Ali Bux, Wahid Bux and Mumtaz.

According to Nooran, resident of Zeal Pak colony, her husband Rahib was a gambler and he had promised to give his daughter in marriage in lieu of Rs10,000 he had lost in gambling when she attained puberty.

Nooran says later she made the payment but now the accused are harassing her to marry Rasheeda to Ghani, son of Lal.
