Rs331m for stipends

LAHORE, Feb 28: The Central Zakat Council has released Rs331 million as first installment for payment of educational stipends to the deserving students of 234 vocational institutions in Punjab.

This was stated at a meeting held to review performance of district Zakat officers on Wednesday with Zakat and Ushr Minister Khadim Wattoo in the chair.

The participants were told that Rs10,657,400 had been released for payment in Attock, Rs7,852,800 for Gujrat, Rs8,200,900 for Bahawalnagar, Rs6,937,450 for Bhakkar, Rs10,453,750 for Chakwal, Rs4,607,750 for Dera Ghazi Khan, Rs3,817,320 for Hafizabad, Rs11,035,790 for Jhang, Rs3,089,000 for Jhelum, Rs6,002,000 for Kasur, Rs8,241,300 for Khanewal, Rs12,523,100 for Khushab, Rs13,290,850 for Layyah, Rs10,058,400 for Lodhran, Rs8,157,850 for Mandi Bahauddin, Rs13,210,660 for Mianwali, Rs10,677,500 for Muzaffargarh, Rs5,543,550 for Nankana Sahib, Rs4,381,480 for Narowal, Rs5,126,230 for Okara, Rs7,403,800 for Pakpattan, Rs16,330,300 for Rahim Yar Khan, Rs5,903,450 for Rajanpur, Rs8,995,410 for Sahiwal, Rs9,102,860 for Sheikhupura, Rs4,400,550 for Toba Tek Singh, Rs9,168,800 for Vehari, Rs6,552,560 for Bahawalpur, Rs20,242,530 for Faisalabad, Rs6,564,660 for Gujranwala, Rs7,829,550 for Multan, Rs23,510,100 for Rawalpindi, Rs14,545,300 for Sargodha, Rs7,813,000 for Sialkot and Rs18,887,950 for Lahore district.
