Five injured as ‘bad’ tea flares tempers

By Our Correspondent

ATTOCK, Feb 28: A scuffle over the ‘bad’ taste of tea left five persons injured in the city centre, the Attock police said on Wednesday. The fight broke out when some customers on Tuesday complained of the tea flavour at a stall near the offices of the Tehsil Municipal Administration.

Initially the customers and the staff exchanged harsh words but soon the verbal clash turned into a fistfight.

As a result, four customers — Anjum Abbas, Anwar Hussain Shah, Waqar Shah and Zain Abbas — and stall owner Jawad Kazim sustained injuries and were taken to the District Headquarters hospital.

Meanwhile, a local farmer — Abdul Ghafoor — told the Basal police that he was allegedly attacked by four armed village fellows — Mohammad Afzal, Nazar Abbas, Ghulam Sarwar and Ghulam Asghar — when he was heading home on his tractor. The farmer received bullet injures and was shifted to a local hospital.

HIGHWAY ROBBERY: Three persons riding a car installed with a revolving light deprived two businessmen of their vehicle and cash on Kamala Road.

Abdul Jabbar, a resident of Faisalabad, told the Rangu police that he along with a friend Ghulam Rasool was returning to Faisalabad from Peshawar when his vehicle was intercepted by the robbers.

The armed persons snatched Rs54,900 from the businessmen and also took away their vehicle.

Meanwhile, outlaws stole electric appliances worth Rs20,000 from the store of Mohammad Imran in Muhallah Mohammad Nagar, Attock city.
