Probe into POs’ killing ordered

SAHIWAL, Feb 28: The Sahiwal district and session’s judge on Wednesday ordered an inquiry into the killing of two alleged proclaimed offenders in a police encounter on Feb 10 near Chak 56/GD.

Police said Nausher and Zakir were killed when their accomplices Shameer, Naurez and Allah Ditta attacked them to secure their release.

The court appointed judicial magistrate Muhammad Yunas to probe.

CARS SNATCHED: Three cars were snatched from different areas here on Wednesday evening.

Four gunmen deprived Munir of his car (SLK-3464) near police post on Arif Road bypass.

Shahzad Khan’s 2-D car (HU-136) was forcibly driven away from Islampura area.

Chaudhry Anwarul Haq’s car (LEA-1517) was taken away from W-block of Scheme No 3.

Grain Market, Yousafwala and Farid Town police have registered cases.

CASE REGISTERED: Shahkot police registered a murder case on the direction of Lahore High Court, Multan bench, 15 weeks after the incident.

Ahmad Yar of Chak 32-33/14-L murdered Jannat Bibi on the night of November 14, 2006, and got registered a case against her opponents. Ahmad later transferred her 52 kanals land in the name of his son.

Saba, the sister of Jannat, when came to know of the incident, moved the high court which ordered police to register a case.

Police have registered the case against Ahmed Yar, his accomplice Nawaz, Ramzan and Bari Husain. However, no arrest has been made.

EPIDEMIC: An epidemic of haemorrhagic septicemia has broken out in the city suburbs, Harappa, Noorshah, Kamir and Chichawatni.

The disease has reportedly claimed the lives of hundreds of buffalos, oxen and other cattle. The veterinary dispensaries in union council have been providing vaccine to check the epidemic.
