FAISALABAD, Feb 27: A bomb hoax in an express train going from Lahore to Karachi created panic among passengers here on Tuesday. Sources said the Lahore control office informed the railways police that it had received information that a bomb had been planted in the train’s box No 6. The driver stopped the train near Darul Ahsan at 6:05pm. The 42-down Karakoram Express was on its way from Lahore to Karachi.

A police party reached the spot and checked the train with the help of metal detectors. However, the bomb disposal squad reached the spot after an hour and they examined the entire train cabins but found nothing. Earlier, the passengers were asked to alight from the train which created panic among them.

Railway police station SHO Jabbar Khan said the train was thoroughly examined but no explosive was found.
