MOSCOW, Feb 27: Palestinian militant group Hamas has given assurances that it will act to halt rocket attacks on Israel, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said here on Tuesday after meeting the Hamas chief.

“Hamas must use all its authority in the Palestinian territories to stop the firing of Kasam rockets on Israel,” Lavrov said at a news conference, adding: “We have received assurances that this action will be undertaken.”—AFP
