Zille Huma’s sister joins PML

GUJRANWALA, Feb 26: Sidra Javed, the elder sister of slain Punjab woman minister Zille Huma Usman, has announced entering the politics claiming that she will complete the mission of her sister.

Sidra Javed, who returned recently from the US, announced her decision of joining the ruling PML while speaking at a reference held to pay homage to the deceased minister for the services she rendered for the welfare of the women here on Monday.

She asked the journalists to avoid using the word `Maulvi’ with the name of accused Muhammad Sarwer as it would only defame the religion. Provincial parliamentarian secretary Nayyer Murtaza Lone, MPAs Engineer Ashraf Butt, Muhammad Ashraf and Aroop Town naib nazim Nabila Inayat Chaudhry were also among speakers.

Meanwhile, the police continued quizzing accused Muhammad Sarwer at Ghakkhar police station. The accused insisted that he had no links with any jihadi outfit and that he murdered the woman minister because he considered the rule of women un-Islamic.

Police will produce the accused before a local Anti-Terrorism Court on Wednesday (tomorrow). — Correspondent
