Bandits attack village of Benazir’s estate manager

LARKANA, Feb 26: A gang of bandits stormed Munshi Khuda Bakhsh Phulpoto village, home town of PPP leader Benazir Bhutto’s estate manager Riaz Phulpoto, resorted to heavy firing, took a tractor driver Babu Korai hostage, burnt two tractors parked in his Autaq (guest house) and escaped.
Later, heavy contingent of police was called from Shikarpur and reports reaching here said that an encounter had taken place between the fleeing bandits and the police. The bandits lobbed three rockets on the police party burnt a camp of notorious bandit Piyaro Narejo and herded 20 cattle heads of Mubeen Narejo to a police station.
The bandits had crossed the River Indus, the sources said.
