KARACHI, Feb 26: Sindh Minister for Health Syed Sardar Ahmed has said that the telemedicine system will provide better healthcare facilities to people of the entire province, particularly those of rural and far-flung areas.
He was talking to the staff and other people during his visit to the Telemedicine Centre set up at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
The new Executive Director of JPMC Prof Rasheed Jooma informed the health minister that telemedicine system was functioning in Gambat, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Mirpurkhas and Sanghar in collaboration with some private sector organisations.
The minister was told that telemedicine was a new method in modern treatment which would provide information about various diseases, their symptoms and treatment.
JPMC was providing expertise in 10 medical departments, including dermatology and neurology, through telemedicine, said Dr. Jooma.
