Lewis denies staging comeback

LONDON, Feb 25: Lennox Lewis has again dismissed speculation that he is planning to come out of retirement for a one-off rematch with Vitali Klitschko.

The former world heavyweight champion, who retired after beating Klitschko in six rounds in June 2003, was reported to be back in training at age 41.

“Although I'm flattered that the boxing community is eager to have me back in the ring, I have no plans to return,” Lewis said in comments posted on his Web site Sunday.

“I have no idea how these rumors get started, but I'm a man of my word. I will remain retired.”

The latest speculation began after American fight promoter Bob Arum reportedly said he understood Lewis had been discussing a fight with Klitschko.
