Bahauddin Zakariya’s Urs ends

MULTAN, Feb 25: The three-day annual Urs of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya Multani concluded here on Sunday. The Urs ceremonies which began with the ‘Ghusal’ of the mazar on Friday, concluded with the last session of national Zakariya conference and ‘Dua’ by Sajjada Nasheen Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Delegates from Delhi (India), Sardar Mahi Jeet Singh and Nelan Toba, besides Pir Mureed Husain Qureshi, Pir Haidar Zaman Qureshi, Hafeezullah Mehervi, Qari Tajveeduddin and other ulema were present. Scores of devotees came to attend the Urs from across the country, particularly from Sindh. Addressing the participants of national Zakariya conference, the Sajjada Nasheen highlighted the importance of spreading the message of love and peace given by saints saying it can help eliminate the menace of terrorism, sectarianism and racial prejudices.

Jamat Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan Amir Mazhar Saeed Kazmi said people needed to strengthen their relationship with the teachings of saints. Punjab Amir Jamat Ahl-e-Sunnat Mufti Muhammad Iqbal Chishti, Farooq Khan Saeedi, Prof Muhammad Husain Azad, Mir Hassanul Haidari, Muhammad Sharif Sialvi and Fatehuddin Chishti highlighted the role of saints in spreading the message of Islam across the world. — APP
