Teacher accused of instigating students

By Our Correspondent

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Feb 25: A man has charged a teacher of a government school with instigating his son and other students to go for jihad to Afghanistan, police officials said here on Sunday.

Inamullah lodged a case with the Kulachi police station saying that Maulvi Ziauddin Qureshi, a teacher of Arabic at the Muddi High School, was responsible for the disappearance of his son Mohammad Zakria, a class IX student. He alleged that the teacher had instigated his son to go for jihad to Afghanistan. He complained that the teacher was involved in brainwashing the students and instigating them to go for jihad.

According to the Kulachi police, Mohammad Zakria has been missing since Feb 16 and his father had lodged the complaint on the same day.

They said police had initiated investigations but the teacher denied his involvement in the disappearance or giving jihad lessons to his pupils.
