Many schools had set up their stalls where models highlighting different environmental issues were on display.

The students, who had prepared the models, were gave detailed briefings to the visitors, particularly the youngsters, about these issues. They also responded well to the queries raised by the visitors.

Some of the issues being highlighted were the industrial effluents that were polluting the marine ecosystems.

The air pollution occurring due to the hazardous emissions from the industry as well as the ever increasing number of vehicles and the soil contamination due to the poor system of solid waste management.
