Passengers robbed of cash

LAHORE, Feb 24: Three robbers looted a Kasur bound coach in Kahna area and deprived its passengers of Rs78,400 in cash and five cell phones.

The police registered a case on the complaint of passenger Attiqu-Rehman, a resident of Gulberg.

Two robbers intercepted Tahir Iqbal and his family near Akbar Chowk in Faisal Town area and snatched Rs30,000, two cell phones, four gold bangles and three rings from them.

Four robbers barged into a clinic of Dr Muhammad Akbar in Iqbal Town area, collected Rs65,000, prize bonds worth Rs1,500, six watches and a pistol and managed their escape.

Two robbers came to Muhammad Shakeel in Green Town area and snatched Rs340 and a cell phone from him.

Two robbers deprived a man and his wife of cash, jewellery and a cell phone worth Rs100,000 in Harbanspura.

Shafiq was going to Amir Town along with his wife when the robbers struck.

However, the police said Shafiq had mentioned a loss of Rs27,000 and a cell phone in his application.
