Ahmed to lead Karachi board team


KARACHI, Feb 23: All-rounder Ahmed Iqbal of the Government College Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Friday was named to captain a 16-member Karachi Board of Intermediate team for the Pakistan Inter-board cricket championship.

Jinnah College’s Irfan Lodhi will be Ahmed’s deputy. Other members of the team are Osama Shah, Talha Shabbir, Kamran Nawaz, Sami Arshad, Raheel-ur-Rehman, Ali Mudassar, Khan Sher, Anas Mahmood, Nabeel Hashmi, Majid Rizvi, Talha Khan, Tahir Imam, Akhtar Fahim and Shoaib Khan while Najeebullah, Saeed Anjum, and Hafiz Asad are reserve players.

Prof. Ali Nawaz (manager), Habibullah (associate manager) and Tariq Abrar (coach) are the team officials.

Pakistan Inter Board Cricket is being staged in Multan from Feb 26 and the Karachi Intermediate Board squad will take on Multan in their opening match on Feb 28. —APP
