VEHARI, Feb 23: The district government will hold Jashn-i-Baharan or spring festival from March 9 to 11, said Revenue District Officer Javed Akhtar Mahmood.

He said DCO Babar Hasan Bharwana had formed 23 committees to finalise the arrangements and a large number of events would be presented at the fair for the public.

He said that programmes like dog race, gymnastics, horse dance, exhibitions, livestock competitions, performance of police band, folk dance, craft bazaar and handicraft stalls would be arranged at the Vehari stadium.

He said that matches of hockey, kabaddi and volley ball will be played at the festival. For poetry lovers, a Mehfil-i-Mushaira or poetry recitation will also be held.
