Several shops looted

LAHORE, Feb 22: Robbers looted several shops in the city on Thursday.

A man came to the fish shop of Javed in Tollinton Market, held the people at gunpoint and escaped with Rs20,000 in cash and three cell phones.

Robbers had struck Javed’s shop some time ago and took away Rs150,000 in cash.

Police sources said the SHO concerned came to the shop after receiving a call and snubbed Javed for keeping his shop open till 10pm.

Two armed men entered the cell phone shop of Hyder near the Social Security Hospital in Shahdara and took away Rs7,000 in cash, cell phones and his motorcycle.

Four armed men on two motorcycles came to a shop in Nargis Block, Iqbal Town, and fled with thousands of rupees in cash and a cell phone.

Two robbers intercepted a man in Sabzazar and deprived him of his wallet and a cell phone.

Two gun-toting men barged into a general store in Sattokatla and took away Rs1,000 in cash and a cell phone.

Two people were deprived of cash in Lytton Road and Qila Gujjar Singh areas.

Two cars were reportedly driven away from Qila Gujjar Singh and Iqbal Town areas while four motorcycles were stolen from Sanda, Rang Mahal, Lower Mall and Gulshan Iqbal areas.

WOMAN PO: Kot Lakhpat organised crime police claimed on Thursday to have arrested an ‘educated’ woman narcotics smuggler.

Police said they nabbed Salma who was wanted by Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in two cases.

ANF had recovered 600 kilo hashish, eight kilo opium, 2.5 kilo heroin, counterfeit dollars and two pistols. Her two brothers were arrested, but she made good her escape.
