HYDERABAD, Feb 22: Employees of the population welfare department observed protest in different parts of Sindh on Thursday to pressurise the government to accept their demands.
In Hyderabad, the clerical staff observed a pen-down strike and, led by Mohammad Ameen, Shahid Memon and other leaders, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club.
They demanded that regularisation of the services of contractual employees, restoration of job quota for the children of retired and deceased employees and reinstatement of the dismissed employees.
They also demanded that the employees of other departments and in surplus pool should not be transferred to the population welfare departments.
NAWABSHAH: Members of the All Pakistan Clerk Association, population welfare unit, observed pen down strike and took out a procession, which started from outside the department office and culminated at the local press club. The protesters, including women employees, carried banners and placards and raised slogans.
Speaking on the occasion, provincial vice-president, APCA, Mohammad Luqman Bughio, Shamsuddin Hoth, Josephine Shamim and others warned that if their demands were not accepted, they would spread their protest to entire Sindh.
