The KWSB additional vice-chairman and MPA Mohammad Moin Khan gave these directives during his visit to the pumping station on Thursday. Orangi Town Nazim Abdul Haq, Naib Nazim Shahid Bashir, TMO Qamar Sheikh, Superintendent Engineer Idrees Malik and others were also present.

He was told Gulshan-i-Bihar, Ghaziabad, sectors 14-A, 14-B, Shah Waliullah Nagar, Mansoor Nagar, Raees Amrohi Colony and Baba Wilayat Shah localities were facing acute water shortage and non-working of pumping station during power suspension further aggravated the problem.

Mr Khan directed the SE Orangi Town to install a power generator at the pumping station at the earliest.

He told paper work was in progress to lay a 13km long 24” inch diameter water line from Hub reservoirs to the German School Pumping Station. He said PC-1 of the project worth Rs250 million had been prepared. Later, he visited the Hub reservoir.—PPI
