Wapda win powerlifting event

LAHORE, Feb 21: Wapda with 89 points won the National powerlifting championship on Wednesday. Railways with 49 points seized the second spot while Police finished third, claiming 34 points.

Punjab (23 points), Sindh (10 points) and Balochistan (10 points) were the other teams which took part in the two-day competition.

Results:

56kgs: Jahanzaib Iqbal (Balochistan) total weight lifted 465kgs; Asim Shehzad (Wapda) 450; Hafeez Akram (Railways) 385.

60kgs: Sheraz Butt (Wapda) 490kgs; Khalil Ahmad (Police) 462.5; Pervez Rehmat (Punjab) 375.

67.5kgs: Nasir Ashraf (Wapda) 540kgs; Khalid 480; Aqib Ali 330.

75kgs: Tanveer Hussain (Wapda) 580kgs; Nasir Iqbal (Railways) 460; Qasim Hussain (Railways).

82.5kgs: Anil Raju (Wapda) 625kgs; Shahid Imran (Railways) 550; Sulman Akram (Islamabad) 545.

90kgs: Aftab Abdul Rehman (Wapda) 677.5kgs; Haroon Bin Raheed (Police) 622.5; Abdul Wahid (Punjab) 555.

110kgs: Imran Khalid (Wapda) 857.5kgs; Ansar Iqbal (Railways) 540; Nadeem Javed Butt (Police) 425.

125kg: Nadeem Rafique (Wapda) 635kg; Mohammad Naeem Butt (Police) and Aqeel Javed Butt (Police) disqualified.

125kgs: Rizwanullah Khan (Wapda) 805kgs; Abdul Jabbar Adnan (HEC) 560; Ahsan Shahzad (Railways) 350.
